Further, amenities like the Prima Speedway and the Galaxy Pavilion will still be an up-charge for Haven guests on Norwegian Prima. Additionally, Haven guests have priority when reserving restaurants and entertainment. They also have priority seating at shows and are invited to other exclusive events.

Imagine the view with a nice cocktail in hand as the sun begins to set. This is best described as an exclusive Observation Lounge for Haven guests, with stunning floor to ceiling windows providing incredible view out to sea. Each of these suites also has a separate living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows and a luxury bath containing a bathtub and separate shower. Guests of The Haven have special access to dining spaces apart from that of the complimentary and specialty dining onboard NCL ships. The Haven Restaurant offers an unparalleled dining experience, accompanied by exceptional service. Guests of The Haven additionally have the option to have meals served to them in their stateroom by a Haven butler. These suites include a king-size bed, a double sofa bed and an in-suite hot tub.
Passengers booked in The Haven have access to their very own pool and sundeck area, exclusive to guests of The Haven. The Haven Courtyard and Sundeck features a pool, hot tub, and lounge chairs. Additionally, access to The Haven Sundeck is restricted to guests 16 years and older, offering a private space for adult guests onboard. The Haven is an all-suite private enclave, a virtual ship within a ship, located on the upper decks of certain NCL ships. It offers upgraded accommodations, butler and concierge service, and exclusive access to a range of other special amenities and privileges (to be described below).
A lot depends on your expectations and tolerance of sometimes rambunctious kids. The Haven has upscale bed linens and oversized towels, although the towels were somewhat rough. I loved the Nespresso machine and the cabinet above with assorted glassware. It also contained more than enough espresso and lungo cups with saucers.
What’s the Price for a Room or Cabin in the Haven?
The Haven Restaurant seats 58 and is included in the basic fare for those staying in all suites in The Haven categories. The Restaurant features signature dishes and an impressive wine list. The Norwegian Getaway also has 27 other dining options on the ship.
The Haven Observation Lounge
“Once you’ve experienced The Haven, there is NO going back.” Those were the words of a friend I was chatting to in the District Brewhouse onboard Norwegian Joy. I was, of course, aware of the NCL Haven but always assumed it was nothing more than a name for yet another cruise line’s private suite area of the ship. Your concierge is there to help you with reservations, problems, priority embarkation and disembarkation, priority tendering, and priority seating at shows.

Keep in mind that actual square footage, floor plans, suite locations on the ships and lists of amenities will vary by vessel. So, if there are very specific details you’d like, choose your ship accordingly. Rather than waiting at extended security checkpoints, you have a special line for quick processing. And, all those other passengers seem to disappear when you are taken to a private room filled with comfortable seating and snacks. While enjoying this outside space, you can utilize the services of a Courtyard attendant. Available for request are cold towels, beverages and fresh fruit – all brought to your chosen seating location. The highest “standard” category on board NCL cruise ships is usually the Club Balcony Suite or Suite Category. If you take the price of a Club Balcony Suite, then you will be anything from around 2-3 times per person more for access to The Haven. Internet access is included and on certain ships, you are even provided with a mobile phone that you can use while you are on board.
Likewise, gratuity for your butler is not part of the standard ship gratuities ($20 per person, per day). Thus, you will want to account for additional tips for the Haven staff members that go above and beyond to provide you exceptional service during your cruise. Now, it’s important to note that not everything on the ship is included in The Haven on Norwegian Cruise Line. For instance, if you want access to Vibe Beach Club or the Mandara Spa, that will cost extra. There are no spa cabins in the Haven that include access to the thermal suite.
The Sundeck has a hot tub, plenty of lounge day beds, and a private bar for guests of The Haven. This chic suite features large floor-to-ceiling sweeping windows, with large balcony equipped with lounge chairs. This suite includes a large bedroom, luxury bathroom, and separate living and dining room areas. This a designated section in the upper decks of certain ships that is reserved for the private luxury of keycard holders.
The Joy offers a solid Haven experience, probably not the best but also not the worst. A shallow-water seating area gives passengers a place to read while dipping their barefeet in the water. I was never quite sure whether our butler or steward did it, but our Nespresso pods and used glassware were miraculously restocked, even when the room hadn’t yet been made up. If you avail yourself of the ship’s laundry service, your steward will pick up and deliver that. On our one rough sea day, the sliding doors opened and closed with the ship’s movement. I did like that we had individual bottles of Bulgari toiletries instead of the wall dispensers of generic shampoo and body wash found in most rooms.
They will do everything they can to make your cruise the most wonderful experience possible. Your butler typically handles any of your requests related to food, reservations, or special pampering. Before your cruise, you may be contacted by the pre-concierge, who will ask you a series of questions designed to tailor your Haven experience to your liking.
